On October 22nd, the Marcella Crudeli Foundation brought together journalists and music lovers at the Capitoline Hill for a press conference announcing the new edition of the “Roma” International Piano Competition.

For more than three decades, this prestigious competition has contributed to the musical prestige of the Eternal City, attracting young talents from all over the world every year. The event took place in the highly prestigious Sala della Protomoteca, in the presence of Mrs. Maria Elena Cuomo, President of the Cuomo Foundation, who was the guest of honour for the occasion.
Under the benevolent gaze of the illustrious members of the Congregazione dei Virtuosi, whose marble busts give this historic hall its name, the conference continued with an all-Chopin recital.
Performed by maestro Marcella Crudeli herself, this musical moment was filled with virtuosity and emotion.

Emotion indeed — as the evening also served as a tribute to Mr. Alfredo Cuomo, founder of our philanthropic organization, who initiated the partnership that has united the Cuomo Foundation and the “Roma” competition for twenty years.

Among the guests were Mrs. Svetlana Celli, President of the Capitoline Assembly (Campidoglio); Mr. Paolo Masotti, President of the Marcella Crudeli Foundation; maestro Filippo Manci, conductor of the Orchestra of the “Roma” International Piano Competition; as well as several representatives of Rome’s cultural community.

The “Roma” International Piano Competition will take place from November 2 to 13.
The closing ceremony, featuring the laureates’ concert, will be held on November 15 at the Rome Convention Center (Palazzo dei Congressi).
