On 15 October 2026, Maria Elena Cuomo, President of the Cuomo Foundation, welcomed Prabakaran A. to the Foundation’s headquarters in Monaco.

A former Cuomo Foundation scholarship recipient, Prabakaran now serves as Deputy Director of Urban Planning within the Government of Tamil Nadu. Originally from Kovalam, in rural southern India, he has overcome a disadvantaged background to build an exceptional academic and professional career.

His achievements reflect the continuity of the Cuomo Foundation’s support for education in India. He completed his primary and secondary education at a school complex supported by the Foundation. His excellent academic results then earned him a four-year Cuomo Foundation grant to pursue a degree in architecture.

In 2024, as a young professional, he also participated in the Re.Generation Future Leaders Programme, an initiative of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation which the Cuomo Foundation also helps fund.
